Given the recent death of Steve Jobs, I can’t help but to share part of his commencement speech at Stanford in 2005. I watched the video the day he announced he was stepping down, and I still find myself mesmerized by the power of his words and how it felt as if he was talking directly to me. Below one of my favorite parts:
"Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do." - Steve Jobs
So call me crazy…
Here’s to changing the world… Here’s to Steve Jobs and the legacy hi left behind!

All in a days worth...
Up since 5:30, (well woke up at 5:30m), up since 6:00am… It’s almost 10:00pm and I’ve gone to work, ran out the door at 4:00pm to make it to a Inter-Council Network meeting, worked on more Net Impact tasks, had another Net Impact meeting between that and my Marketing class, had a group meeting, and the day is not yet done… still have to make it home, unwind and review my significant other’s Spanish lesson left on the black board on the refrigerator before heading out in the morning :)
Another application from an MBA student is in, and the program continues to take shape and move forward. Getting lots of support from former, current and new Board members who make the list of tasks look manageable.
Hopefully more applications coming in this week and looking forward to the matching process/days come October, 22!
Help us keep spreading the word about the Board Fellows program!

On a quest
Although the idea had crossed my mind before, I had not taking the step until today. Given that this new academic year will be one full of great opportunities, and a great deal of balancing acts, I thought a great way to capture what it takes to lead Santa Clara University's Net Impact Chapter, while working full time, pursuing an MBA part-time and squeezing in every other bit of what my life is all about, was to start a blog.
What will I blog about? About the Chapter’s progress. Our programs and events (First off.. our Board Fellows Program: Applications are due on Friday, October 21st!). What we’ve learned. What I’m doing, our board is doing, and others are doing to create and promote social change through the use of business skills.
So come on! Follow me on my quest to make an impact…
